Welcome!

The Nimble Thimble opened in August 2009, after a very nervous Jane and Val finally persuaded their even more nervous husbands to let them fulfil a long-held ambition to open a Patchwork and Quilting shop in Buckingham. We have been excited and encouraged by the reaction of sewers and knitters near and far, and every month brings more challenges, more stock, and most importantly, more new friends!

This website is a work in progress, and will grow with the business. We hope you will find what you need here – please telephone us if you have any queries, or better still, call in at the shop!

Events

Quiltathon

Come and help us sew lots of scraps together to make as many patchwork quilts as possible in 24 hours! We will then raffle and auction the quilts to raise funds for Macmillan Nurses.
No experience required, and you don't have to do the whole 24 hrs, tasks will include:

Ironing scraps of fabric
Sewing them together any old... how
Cutting them into squares
Sewing the squares together
EASY!!

Refreshments available will include -

Afternoon Tea
Fish 'n' Chip Supper
Midnight Muffins
Bacon Butties

Exhibition

(picture) An Exhibition of work by students and tutors, to be held at the Well Street Centre, Buckingham on Saturday March 20th. There will be a raffle of quilts in aid of MacMillan Cancer Support.
